There’s something I want to say about identity and success.

Social media is plagued with successful people trying to convince me that their strategy and method is the key to success. That word, strategy. Let’s meditate on it for a second.

When we, online entrepreneurs, see models out there that resonate with us because of what they do, we naturally start feeling the need of emulate their success. It’s in our nature, don’t worry. Many of them even sell packages and courses to encourage me to follow their step and reach success. Their material is colourful, enriched with beautiful ideas and words that hit the nail in our mind.

However, success is a path that is unique to each one of us. And more than that, it feels different to everyone. This is why there is no set strategy for success. You might want to follow the footsteps of someone renown, but it might take you to results that won’t feel like your own.

It’s in our human nature to seek for certainty, and a set formula or strategy really does the trick. We want to be successful and hopefully someone will show us how to do it. So, we start emulating what another person did to reach success. Ultimately, the only thing they can offer us is tools and techniques that have worked for them. Take this not a formula for you but rather a different insight that you can think about.

You are unique and so should be your method. When you see an influencer or big personality shining in their success, don’t try and copy their path. Instead, think why it worked for them. Observe them.

Ask yourself:

Why did it work?

What was the mindset behind it?

Was there proof that is was going to work?

What factors contributed to their success?

Let others’ formulas be mere information to you and work to craft a strategy that is unique to you.
